Introduction

ProduktInfo.dk is a service that helps you find information about product owners. We take your privacy seriously and only process the data necessary to provide the service.

What data do we collect?

• Search queries: Text and images you upload to identify products. These are only used to answer your query.
• Device identifier: A randomly generated ID stored locally in your browser. Used to count daily AI searches.
• Technical log data: IP address, browser type and time of requests. Used for troubleshooting and security.

What do we use the data for?

• To answer your search queries
• To improve our database and search results
• To protect the service against abuse
• To analyse anonymised usage statistics

European infrastructure

We exclusively use European services:

• Servers: All our servers are located in Germany.
• AI: We use European AI services for image recognition and product identification.
• Data: Your data never leaves the EU.

Sharing of data

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except:

• AI services: Images and text are sent to European AI models to identify products. These services are subject to EU data protection rules (GDPR).
• Legal requirements: If we are legally obliged to disclose data.

Advertising

The service is free. To keep it that way, we show ads via Google AdMob.

We do not store your advertising data. Ad serving is handled entirely by Google on their servers.

We evaluated European ad providers but found they predominantly served cryptocurrency and gambling advertisements. We chose Google AdMob for its content quality controls and GDPR compliance. If you know of a European alternative that meets these standards, we welcome your suggestion at support@produktinfo.dk.

• You can choose personalised or non-personalised ads
• Users in the EEA are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown (GDPR)
• Consent can be changed at any time

Cookies and local storage

We use local storage (localStorage) to:

• Save your language preferences
• Count daily AI searches
• Remember your device identifier

We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access information about the data we hold about you

• Withdraw your consent

Retention

Log data is retained for up to 90 days. Anonymised statistics may be retained longer.

Security

We use HTTPS encryption and follow best practices for data security.
